Mike: If you will reread my posted message you will see that I did NOT suggest the Stephen who married Elizabeth Thorne (in Washington, DC) was Judiah's son Stephen. I specifically said the Christining record for the Stephen of interest stated his father was Jeremiah... and that Judiah's Will named Jeremiah as being one of his (Judiah's) sons. This would make my Stephen a grandson of Judiah (as you yourself suggest).. Yep ! Saw my mispelling of Judiah's name a short while after my posting.. 8-) Over the weekend I also found the birth record (St. Andrew's Parish) for a Sarah Henning born in 1776 with Jeremiah and his wife listed as her parents..so I now have two of Jeremiah's children..
Knew Judiah had to be born at least say by 1720 or before from his being a Witness to a Will in 1738 in St. Mary's.. but did not know just how old he really was. Thanks ! Never thought to look in Cecil Co., MD for him and his ancestors.. Was looking on the MD Eastern shore as a possible place .. with no luck that is...
The John I see in St. Mary's Co.. named in a Will there in 1741 (his wife's mother's) and who left his own Will there in the 1770's does not seem timewise could be the John you say was judiah's father. Were there two John's ?? the second one maybe a son of the earlier one ?? Also found a marriage there for an Ann Henning early enough in time that I wondered if she could be a sister to Judiah.. but not at all sure where she fit.
Did you manage to figure out which son/s of Bennet all those grandchildren he names in his Will were the children of ??
