The descendant of William Howard (abt 1771 - abt 1859) and Ann Clark (daughter of Joseph Clark from Prince George's, MD) of Nelson county, Kentucky, has been contacted by a person that is a near DNA match (one marker difference).

This person is a descendant of a Robert Howard, born about 1767, who died in White county, Tennessee in 1832. He may have been from Greenbrier county, VA (now WV), as his earliest records are there. He was married to Nancy Van Bibber. Since he had a son named Ignatius, and two grandsons with the middle name Sims, they are investigating whether there could be a connection to Ignatius Howard who died in Greenbrier county in 1777 of smallpox. His wife Sarah's maiden name was Sims.

Any information bearing on this would be appreciated.
