Descendents of John Coode (1648)-Most of the people listed in these wills were in or around Randolph Co. NC during the life of Timothy T Cude.(1748?- 1813)--5/9/1723: Petition of Richard Coad, Justinian Jordan and his wife Mary (Coode), William Scott and his wife Ann (Coode), and Winifred Coad state that Richard, Mary, Ann and Winifred are the children of Col. John Coad who has been deceased about 14 years; Coad left his wife Elizabeth sole Exec. and she then married William Hook. Deposition of Thomas Sykes of SMC, age about 80 (MD Chancery Records) This record does not list his sons John and William. Sykes was the name of the first husband, so they were fighting over inheritance. We do not have a list of children for William. In 1723 Winifred is list as Coad and in 1736 she is listed as Burch. John COODE, Jr, son of Col. John COODE, died in April 1718.
