Clearly there are several places for confusion of even documentation concerning O'Bryans (Bryans)
I have these five Eleanors:
ELEANOR BRYANT (BRYAN, etc)
1. Eleanor d/o Henry Bryan of William (see will proved 3 Feb, 1763)
MARYLAND PROBATE RECORDS, CALENDAR OF WILLS, VOL 12, 1759-1764. p. 176, FTM CD 206
Bryan, Henry, St. Mary's Co. 17 Jul, 1761 3 Feb, 1763
Wife Monica Bryan, land which I bought of Henry Miles; at her decease to dau. Eleanor Bryan.
To dau. Eleanor Bryan, land lying in and near Beaver Dam Mannor; if she dies without issue, to my 2 bros. Ignatius and John Bryan.
Dau.-in-law Monica Shirecliff.
To son-in-law Thomas Shircliff, all my pt. of land, Green's Plot, 17 A., provided he will pay dau. Eleanor Bryan, 6 lbs. and 12 s. sterl. in 2 years. To bro. Ignatius Bryan, some clothing.
Extx. wife.
Wit: Robert Cole, Robert and Peter Mattingly. 31.867
This Eleanor is not married by Jul 1761 so she can not be wife of Samuel or mother to his children.

This source has no support that Eleanor (who married Philip) is an OBryan? What was the orginal DAR source?
If so, she might be daughter of Henry. (See will below).

3. Eleanor d/o Matthias O'Brien and prob. Eliza.
O'BRYAN ELEANOR, dau. of Mathias, born 5, November 1666
O'BRYAN ELIZABETH, wife of Mathias, died 6th May 1670.
O'BRYAN WILLIAM, son of Mathias & Magdalen of Mattawoman, b.Mar.6,1672.
Obryan, Ellinor, surviving heir of Matthias Obryan. Indendure (Indenture?), 10 Aug 1703, to Mary Connell, wife of Dennis Connell, for love and affection, then to William, Elizabeth, Mary and Angellica Connell, children of Mary Connell. Two tracts, Fernes on the s. side of Mattawoman, cont. 300 acres and Howland, 200 acres." (Edward Ronsheim's book, Title?.)
"Byrn, James and Elizabeth his wife and William Connell (planter), conveyed on 27 April 1714, a parcel of land formerly conveyed from Eleanor Obryan, dec'd to Mary Connell, mother of William Connell and Elizabeht Byrn; two tracts: Freshes nr. head of Mattawoman Creek cont. 300 acres; also Clahammond cont. 200 acres."
If I read this right, Eleanor is the surviving heir 1703, and she is unmarried and dec'd by 1714? , then this Eleanor, Mathias Obrien and William can't be related to my Eleanor Abell and the assumption that follows on the link posted:
"594. Philip O'Bryan He was the son of 1188. Mathias O'Bryan." can't be correct unless there is other evidence of another child who married, died and had children before 1703. Matthias' son William must not have survived with heirs. So it is probably NOT the same William Brian below:

5. Eleanor supposedly of Philip who married Samuel III Abell
Samuel Abell III (1719-1777) married Eleanor Bryan on 1735 at St. Mary's. DAR says she was the daughter of Phillip O'Bryan. The index lists Eleanor Bryant. (O'Bryan)
Does anyone have the DAR proof or source for this marriage date or parentage? Apparently it was available in 1936 the date of the genealogy chart in my grandfather's possession.
I have this Philip:
PHILIP O'BRIEN (ca 1750 - 1830)
My greatgreatgreatgreat grandfather was Philip O`Bryan, most of my familytree cousins believe he was b.about 1750 Armagh County, Ireland. Philip served in the Maryland Militia with a Michael O`Bryan (looks like a brother) during the American Revolution under a Captain Brown. According to records he was married a couple of times, only wife I know was a Sara Thompson.
Philip`s sons I know are Henery b.1783 m.Mary McAtee b.1784 John b.1779 m.Mary Wathen b.1799 Joseph 1788 m.Mary Vowels b.1790 Benedict b.1792 m.Ellender Gristy b.1787 He supposedly had a couple other boys and girls (names unknown). Don`t know if he is related to the O`Bryans who were in Maryland earlier. Patrick
Millennium addition (2003) of the DAR Patriot index, listed:
Philip b. 1750 Ireleand, died about 1830 Kentucky. Married (1st) Sarah Thompson. He was a Corporal, Gunner, also listed as performing Public
Service. Maryland. [Volume 2, page 1996.]
This Philip can't be father to Eleanor as he is too young.I wonder where birth year Irish immigrant info for DAR came from? The names of sons and intermarriage with Thompsons and Wathens are typical of the Abells and Mills of earlier heritage. I don't have any other Philips.
I am lacking any evidence that Eleanor is daughter of Philip or related to Philip at all.
Inventory of John Bryan 5/1774 has Philip Bryan as exec. Kin is Ignatius Bryan and Elenor "Able.
What was this source? This John is probably brother of Henry and Ignatuis,.
If this is John and Henery and Ignatius, all sons of William (see will), William makes no mention of Philip. Henry makes no mention of a
Philip. Possibly this Philip is a son of John of William, not uncle, not brother.

Is it possible that #4 and #5 are the same? Eleanor who married Samuel would be d/o William, named by her maiden name in his will of 1733 or 1734 who married Samuel 1735.
