St. Mary's County, MD is a strong base for several of my ancestral families that moved to Kentucky in 1785.

I have a Clarissa Wimsatt (1788 MD-1856 KY) who was married to Bernard Abell (1789 MD-1856 KY). One of their eleven children was Mary Sophia Abell (1817-1891) who married Richard B. Wathen (1815-1880). Their daughter Harriet Elizabeth Wathen (1841-1913)married Edward Lloyd Adams (1835-1921). One of their thirteen children was Pamela Ann Adams (1866-1897)who married John Foster Mattingly (?-?).
One of their seven children was Sophia Mattingly, who was my Grandmother.
