Despite all of the following…

--Having subscriptions to multiple online resources, including the New England Historic Genealogical Society
--Research commissioned by The Sheffield Historical Society
--The presence of other individuals named Fitch in Sheffield during the same era

…to date, the *only* reference that has been found for Ari FITCH is the following…

1800 United States Federal Census 1800 United States Federal Census

Source Citation: Year: 1800; Census Place: Sheffield, Berkshire, Massachusetts; Roll: 13; Page: 231; Image: 231; Family History Library Film: 205611.

From the digital image of this census entry, his name is quite clearly spelled as “Ari” but perhaps “Ari” is a nickname for an otherwise unknown given name.

Can anyone provide more information Ari FITCH and his origins?

Thanks for your help!
