STAMFORD, Vt. -- Elsie Irene Drost Porey, 74, of 229 A Mill Road died Friday evening at North Adams Regional Hospital in North Adams. Born in Washburn, Maine, on Oct. 13, 1925, daughter of Herbert Drost and Letha Clarke Drost, she attended schools there. She was a longtime resident of Greenfield, Mass., and moved to Stamford in 1998. She was employed by the former Hub Restaurant for several years and by the former Nora's Bake Shop, both in Greenfield. She was most recently employed at the Pro-Brush Co. in Florence, Mass., retiring in 1990. Her husband, Ernest Charles Porey, died in 1965. She leaves a daughter, Donna G. Porey of Stamford; a son, Bruce W. Porey of Stamford; a brother, Eugene Drost of Tolland and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial Mass for Elsie Drost Porey will be celebrated Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenfield. Burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, are tomorrow from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
