Royal Z. Wright
Death: November 14, 1950

Royal Z. Wright, 50, of 155 Shawmut Avenue, husband of Gladys (Walsh) Wright, died last night at St. Luke’s Hospital after a two-month illness.
Born in New Bedford, he had lived here all his life and was an employee of the City Incinerator.
Survivors besides his widow, are two sons, Robert and John, both of New Bedford, four brothers, Edgar of North Dartmouth, Ernest of North Rochester, Clifton and Charles, both of New Bedford and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wordell and Mrs. Mary Gray, both of New Bedford.

Death: March 2, 1957

Funeral Services were held yesterday for Charles Wright, 59, of 1041 Purchase Street, who died Saturday at St. Luke’s Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Wright was the husband of the late Alice (Hutchinson) Wright. He was born in New Bedford and lived most of his life here. He was a member of the Advent Christian Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Harold Wordell and Mrs. Mary Gray, both of New Bedford, three brothers, Edgar of North Dartmouth, Ernest of Rochester and Clifton of Yarmouthport, three daughters, Mrs. Edward Mendoza of New Bedford, Mrs. Edward Beaudry of Springfield, and Miss Shirley Wright of Belchertown and two sons, Charles Wright, Jr. of Vineland, N.J. and Robert Wright of Casper, Wyo.

Died: January 18, 1964

Ernest K. Wright, 72, husband of Ester J. (Hayward) Wright, of Snipatuit Road, Rochester, died early today at St. Luke’s Hospital after a short illness.
A retired contractor, Mr. Wright was born in New Bedford and lived in Rochester 17 years. He retired 6 years ago.
Mr. Wright was a member of Long Plain Methodist Church and a member of East Freetown Grange 307.
Besides his widow, he leaves three sons, Arthur J. and Lawrence H. both of Rochester, and Franklin E. of Middleboro, two daughters, Mrs. Jane Aspden of Rochester and Mrs. Betsy Phillips of Wareham, a brother Clifton of New Bedford, two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wordell and Mrs. Mary Gray both of New Bedford and 16 grand-children.

Clifton L. Wright
Died: October 18, 1969

Clifton L. Wright, 77, of 29 Willis St., died at Rhode Island Hospital yesterday after a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, he was a plumber and a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Plumbers Union Local 53.
He was elected to the Common Council from Ward 1 in 1928.
Surviving are two sons, Robert E. of New Bedford and Clifton L. Wright, Jr. of Waltham, three daughters, Mrs. Ruth E. Davies of West Barrington, R.I., Miss Lois E. Wright of Waltham and Mrs. Thelma Davis of Bay Town, Texas, two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wordell and Mrs. Mary Gray both of New Bedford, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St.

Died: October 24, 1978

Mary E. (Wright) Gray, 83, of 127 Cottage St., New Bedford, died yesterday at home after a long illness. She was the widow of Daniel R. Gray.
A lifelong New Bedford resident, she was a member of Rebecca’s.
She is survived by a stepson, Donald R and a sister, Ruth Wordell, both of New Bedford.
Funeral arrangements are being made by the Wilson Chapel.

Ruth Wordell
Died: July 18, 1983

Ruth A. (Wright) Wordell, 87, of 134 S. Second Street and formerly of 113 Willis Street, died today after a long illness. She was the widow of Harold A. Wordell and daughter of the late Amos T. and Hattie M. (Abbott) Wright.
She was a lifelong New Bedford resident and a member of the North Baptist Church. She was a bookkeeper for the former William R. West Roller Shop, 1886 Purchase Street for 36 years until retiring.
Mrs. Wordell was a Red Cross volunteer and a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. She was a service volunteer for the Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by the Donaghy Funeral Home, 455 County St.


Edgar Wright died in Dartmouth, MA. in 1960 but I didn’t have death date to locate obit.
