Thank you for responding. I will look into that name. My grandmother constantly changed her name through out her trek to California. We don't really know for sure if her last name is Santos or Silva. She used several last names with her three children, until she met my grandfather and married him. Then she had three more with my grandfather. I know she was sent to a Convent in Horta Faial, but we found out that the convent burned down so records were lost.
We think she was afraid someone was after her, I can't find papers on their marriage in California. So it is very hard trying to look and come up empty handed. I will try that name and see where it goes.
