Has anyone found a marriage record in pre-1800 Bristol County marriages, perhaps particularly in Dartmouth, where there is absolutely no other trace for the family unit?
I got a marriage I'm interested in that took place in 1750 between a Jesse Gibbs and Hannah Joseph
However after the marriage, there is no birth records for any children of theirs, no death records for either of them either. No birth records for them or prospective families they descended from in Bristol County. No land records for the family. No will or probate either. It's like they first appear to get married, and completely vanish afterwards.
Has anyone else found instances of this scenario with Dartmouth couples wed pre-1800? Or perhaps Bristol County couples wed pre-1800?
Does anyone know if Dartmouth was a port of colonial immigration? Or was a gateway for westward expansion further into New England? Seems pretty far east in New England to potentially be the latter of those two.
