MELBOURNE, Fla. - Ernest Laino , 82, of Melbourne, Fla., and formerly of Belchertown, Mass., died Dec. 14, 2001 in Melbourne. Born in Springfield, December 5, 1919, he lived in Melbourne for the past 25 years, and had been a previous resident of Belchertown. He was a master electrician for 30 years for the former Moore Drop Forge in Springfield and was an Army Veteran of WW II. He participated in the invasion of Normandy and the Central European Theater of operations and received a bronze star for his service. His wife, Olivine "Pat" Lamoureaux Laino died in 1986. He is survived by a sister, Julia Malione of North Adams, and a brother Eugene of Longmeadow, as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, January 10, 2002, at St. Mary's Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. A graveside service will precede the service on that day at 9:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Belchertown. Beers &Story Belchertown Funeral Home is handling arrangements locally. Please make donations in his memory to Northampton Nursing Home, Pediatric Unit, in care of Recreation, 737 Bridge Rd., Northampton, MA 01060.
