how do you know that Abraham is using his middle name in the 1870 census? We know Abraham was married to Catherine in 1861 after kelsey died. On my ggrandfather's record of funeral a Rodney Garrison was listed as the father. His father was also listed as Kelsey Garrison. We are very confused about this. Any help would be appreciated. We know Catherine was married to Kelsey and Abraham. And who is Rodney? We know Kelsey had a son named R E Garrison who was born in Michigan 1857. Could his name be Rodney Elmer. We know they moved to Iowa by 1859 when William Elmer was born. William Elmer was my gggrandfather. Also, Abraham is also a Garrison. Were they brothers or cousins? All census shows Kelsey as dad to William.
