Hello,
I am trying to find the ancestral village of my Krzewinski ancestors. I think it is in or near by Grudziadz.
The family lived in Bay City and the surrounding area.
The family group based on information I have so far:
Jacob Krzewinski and Mary Wilbrant
children: Mary Krzewinska and Joseph Krzewinski
Joseph Krzewinski
Born Abt 1832 in German Poland (Prussia).
Died 19 Jun 1930 in Bay City
Married (Abt 1861 in Poland) - Frances Kochanny (other spellings I've seen: Kuchewska, Kohonja, Koheniska, Kuhana, Kochynia)
Born 25 Dec 1843 in German Poland
Died 15 Nov 1908 in Bay City
The family were all members of St. Stanislaus Church. Unfortunately, I've read on here that St. Stanislaus records are impossible to come by, is that still the case?
They had several children:
Leon, Bernard (married Catherine Milczewska), Elizabeth (married Joseph Burzynski), Helena (married Teofil Reszka), Joseph, John (married Angeline Cieslinski), Leokadya (married Frank Murach/Murack), Frances M. (married Frank Lukaszewski)
I have a lot of info on this family already, but if anyone has info or knows of this family group, I'd like to hear from you.
What records in Bay County are most likely to show an exact village location in Poland?
The closest hints I have are: Bernard's daughter wrote that he was from Grudziadz. Frances Kochanny's cemetery record supposedly says she was born in Zachud or Zasbod?
Thank You!
