Hello Cousin HJP
I am really interested in sharing information. My direct email is email@example.com
The names in your note are all very well known to me: Maggie & Wesley (George Wesley Stark) are my paternal grandparents. Tillie (Matilda Fertaw Morse Montgomery Cross) is a sister of Maggie and Ophelia, Frank Cross was her third hubby.
You found MaryAnn Fertaw and her sons buried at Oak Ridge. Did you discover that Matilda's husband Wm C. Montgomery is buried with them? Tillie was then buried 100 feet away with Frank. George & Maggie are there too - in another section with an infant son.
Walk me through your line from Ophelia - It has been difficult to trace your branch of the family after 1930/1940 time frame - so there are big gaps in what I have on paper.
I have a feeling that maybe some rift in our family way back then. I grew up in Saginaw and never, ever heard mention of cousins in Bay county other than my mother's family. When I began researching the family I was amazed to find the Morse clan, and others. Seems like we all missed out on knowing each other and for what reason? And, there were a whole lot more of Ophelia's cousins too (her grandmother had been married two, maybe three times and at least two clans had moved from Canada into Bay circa 1865-1870. Those lost cousins had surnames of Ralph, Jean, & Richmond
Eagerly waiting to share more. I can email you what I have if you would be willing to add/subtract/correct my draft.
Your new cousin - Tim Stark
