Benzie Resident Dies Wednesday

Florence Humstad, 58, of Benzonia, died Wednesday, November 5, at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Friday at Bennett funeral home in Benzonia. Rev. George Agin of the Honor Congregational Church officiated, with burial in Benzonia cemetery.

Mrs. Humstad was born in Benzie county on November 6, 1911, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hanmer. She was a life-long resident of the county and was a nurses aide at the Benzie County Medical Care Faciliity.

Surviving are a son, Karl, of Beulah; four brothers, George Jr., and Roy Hanmer both of Benzonia, Earl Hanmer of Castle Rock, Washington, and Floyd Hanmer of Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. Velma Miller of Sturgis and Mrs. Margaret Ross of Benzonia, her father George Hanmer, Sr. of Benzonia and four grandchildren.
