I do think he may have been trying to hide something. My aunt once told me that she was told he was a "perpetual liar". I didn't think he was close to my grandmother, but after I inherited all her pictures and scrapbooks, it seems he was around more then I thought. My aunt told me as well, she heard he was born in Norway, and adopted out of England before coming to the US. His death certificate says his father was John Westboy and mother was Mary Gonzales, but I believe this may be wrong as well.

I don't know what to believe. However, I do know for a fact, that he was living in Thompsonville and Springdale areas of Michigan, with ties to Chicago. Was wondering if there were land records or even a directory for these areas that may have had him in it, so I could see who he may have lived by. I am anxious to see the 1940 census when it comes out, just to see what it says. Maybe some new place and new birthdate.
