Died Monday, April 20, 2009. Josie was born on March 9, 1958 in Niles, Michigan to John and Irene Mae (VanVynckt) Marazita, Sr. She was raised in Niles and moved to Kalamazoo in 1974, where she graduated from John F. Kennedy Center. She had been employed at KcKercher Industries in Kalamazoo. She was a member of Saint Mark Catholic Church in Niles, where she was also a member of the choir. She enjoyed singing, hooking rugs, and visiting especially with family. Josie will be best remembered for her smiles and sense of humor. The Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine Marazita will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Saint Mark Catholic Church, by The Rev. Thomas King C.S.C. Committal Rites will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Niles. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles, with recitation of The Rosary at 7:30 PM. Contributions in memory of Josie may be made to Saint Mark Catholic Church or the Lupus Foundation.
