Mrs. Nettie Haithcox, daughter of Hardin and Mary Ann McCully, was born in Grant County, Ind., July 12th, 1854, and departed this life Jan. 13th, 1935, at 6:45 p.m., at the home of her daughter, 706 W. Erie St., Albion, Mich., at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 1 day.
At the age of 15 she was united in marriage to Thomas Burnett, who died in 1888. To this union were born six children, four preceding her in death and two surviving her.
In 1890, she was married to Seth Haithcox, who died ten years ago. She has been a resident of Vandalia for the past fifty years. Being in failing health, she was taken to her daughter's home in Albion, where she has had the best and most tender care in her failing health. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist church of that place. She leaves the daughter, Flossie Burnett of Albion, one son Elder Jasper Burnett of 1860 N. 10th St., Milwaukee, Wis., one sister, only survivor of fourteen children, Mrs. Ida Brown of Vandalia; three granddaughters, Mrs. Mable Redmond, Mrs. Furley Burnett, Mrs. Zora Hartwicg, all residing in Milwaukee; six nieces, seven nephews and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She received the Holy Ghost in 1930 and was a devoted Christian and faithful member as long as she lived.
