I'm descended from John Monroe (Munro) and Marcelline Lalonde. John was an early settler to South Arm/East Jordan, Michigan. I'm a bit confused about the information I've found online and am hoping someone can help me out. Questions I have include:
- John Monroe is often listed as being born in 1820 and died in 1922 (102 years old). The census says that he was born in 1830. I suspect he actually died between 1900-1910. Some records online state his father was his son (born after). Does anyone have information regarding his parents? Any idea why the decade difference has sprung up? Is it just a case of folks copying bad information over and over?
-Marcelline Lalonde. Online records show her parents (Augustin and Angelique having children well into their 50s. It just isn't biologically feasible. Anyone really know who Augustin and Angelique's children were?
-Does anyone know where John and Marcelline are buried?
