She was born somewhere in Michigan, I dont know the city or county, and her husband James was adopted, but his birth name is James Lee Probst. They were both presummably born in Michigan, and they both currently live in Clare Michigan. My Birth Grandmothers Name was Shavrnoch. I have Beaverton as the best city address for either of their births or Saginaw. Thanks! I know this is limited but being that I don't have much information, whatever you can find will be helpful. I know their should be an adoption record for James Lee Probst, he became James Lee Hurry. His adoptive mother was Florence Hurry.

I am looking for my birth grandmother's closest "LIVING" relatives. She is currently about 79 years old. Her maiden name is: Barbara Shavrnoch. I can't verify that fully but thats the best I have for the maiden name. She was married to a James Lee Hurry and they currently are still living and residing in Clare, Michigan. Her married name is: Barbara Jean Hurry, and she has a daughter named Valerie Hurry, and Steve Hurry, my father is Steve Hurry, and he was adopted just like I was and just like Barbara's husband was.

They are related to the Carson's. Some of my family are the Bud's, Roland, and Lambertson. They were some of the first settlers in Harrison.
I am not sure but, I think one of my family taught school in Greenwood Twp..
Could I get copies of the school pictures? I am willing to share any info I have.
Thanks for grtting in touch.
Dee

I descend from Hiram Brown my great-grandmother Martha was Hiram's daughter. I know the Brown family lived in Mannsiding or at least many of the Brown children I guess I should say.
I would like more info on Viola's line. How is the name spelled? I have seen it spelled several ways.

I came across this:

10 Dec 1886
Clare Press
The County Seat
Church, Political, Lodge, Personal, Pugilistic
Wm H. Dorhorty of Mann’s Siding, was tried before Justice Tinker today and convicted for assault and battery upon Hiram Brown. On the recommendation of the jury sentence was suspended.

Your great-great grandfather assaulted my great-great grandfather lol

I also have this:
09 Aug 1895
Mann’s Siding

One of Will Dougherty’s little boys cut his thumb off while trying to kill a chicken for his mother.
My Name is Heather Bryant. My dad is Dennis Bryant and my grandpa was Donald Bryant. Don and Penny were my grandparents and they lived on the lake (Shamrock) in Clare. My Uncle Ernie and Aunt Monica used to reside next to them as well. My aunt Marci is down in Florida with me and my Uncle Steve is still in MI. I am trying to go back beyond my grandpa Don Bryant. His full name was Donald Grant Bryant and his birthday was Aug. 16 (1913 or 1918?). He died in Feb 1983 when I was young. I am trying to find out my true heritage. I assume Irish, but am interested in seeing how far back the Bryants go. Can you help?

I have her date of birth as 1871 in Clare County, Michigan. As to time frame--she was the one who gave info to the funeral director for her father's death certificate (Henry Hanes)in September, 1921, at Clare, Michigan. I am told (no verification) that there is a stone for her in Surrey Cemetery in Clare Co. but no dates or mention of her husband, William Arnold.

I checked the Clare Sentinal Newspaper, the Clare city records for the Cherry Grove Cemetery and also the Genealogical's records of the entire county of Clare, MI.
I'm not sure, but I found lots of references to William, Eliza and their daughters in the Clare Sentinel:

http://library.cmich.edu/condor/newspaper_collection.php?CIS...

Try searching for their names as exact phrases, including W H Virtue (110 hits!)

There are 29 "hits" for Ethel, including an article on her marriage.
