I'm looking for information on the parents of James PLUHATOR (b. 1 May 1914 in Grayling, Crawford Co., MI; d. 17 Aug 1986 in Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI). I know that his parents' names were Michael PLUHATOR and Anna PETZ, but I have found no trace of them prior to the birth of this child, James PLUHATOR. I know that Anna PETZ came to Michigan in search of her father who had left the family in Austro-Hungary several years prior and was said to have settled in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Michael PLUHATOR was Ukrainian and just immigrated to the U.S. for a better life, I assume. The couple met in Michigan, were married in Michigan, and had all 4 of their children (one stillborn) in Michigan. Yet - I have found no reference to them in any record anywhere aside from the birth certificates of their children, all born in MI.

Note: the Ukrainian surname of PLUHATOR was legally changed by this son, James PLUHATOR, between 1940-1950 to PLY.

Can anyone help or give some direction? I'd really like to find some info on Michael and Anna [PETZ] PLUHATOR / PLY. Thanks.
