I have no confirmation he was actually born in Grayling. His Father was Charles Armstrong, and his mother was Celia Mae Slater. There are pictures on my public family tree of grandpa in his navy uniform after enlisting for WWII standing in front of the old Armstrong homestead in Frederic.
