I am reposting this from another board for another researcher. Randi Solstad, and at least Martin, first came to Escanaba from Norway.
They used the surname Solstad, when emmigrating.
My emigranted relatives were called:
Jon born 1876, emigrated 1895
Randi, born 1879, emigrated 1902 -her children with Martin Larsson Aunan were Ola, born 1900.
Martin born 1886, emigrated 1906
Gurine, born 1889 (no record of year of emigration)
Jon, Randi, Martin and Gurine were children of Arn Jonsson and Karen Jonsdatter Kjerrem who came from Skaun in South Trønderlag. Their surnames were Arnsson Solstad (son of Arn) and Arnsdatter (daughter of Arn). None of them ever returned to Norway. I'm the granddaughter of their sister, Anna married Konstad, born 1891.
Best Regards, Grethe Moe.
Randi Solstad married Martin Larson in Escanaba, October 1, 1904https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N36W-HJ1
She and Martin had a son Ole in the 1910 census, but it said he was born in Norway, and emmigrated in 1907, so it is unknown if he was a child of Martin, or Randi without more research.
