Leonard George HOSIER, 85, of Boyne City, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan.
A memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Boyne City with the Rev. Francis Partridge officiating. Inurnment will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery.
Leonard was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Big Rapids, the son of Harry and Nellie (COSIER) HOSIER. He graduated from Boyne City High School in 1936.
He worked for Howe Bros. Tanning and Extract Leather Co., for a few years.
Mr. HOSIER then served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.
On Nov. 29, 1943, he married the former Laura C. Hackenberg.
He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Laura, of Boyne City; daughters, Phyllis HOSIER of Boyne City, Laura Lynn (Robert) HOUSER of Boyne City; three grandchildren, Michael, Rebecca and Joseph HOUSER; one sister, Genevieve MILLER, of Newaygo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Leonard was preceded in death by sisters, Pauline WILLIS, Doris MILLER; and brothers, Wesley and Joseph.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Matthews Catholic Church Building Fund, or to Grandvue Medical Care Facility.
Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City is in charge of arrangements.
