Karl SKYEE, 90
Karl SKYEE, 90, of Boyne City, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000.
Karl was born near Ironton, Mich., March 3, 1910. He was the son of Charles and Etta (KERR) SKYEE.
He attended school in Ironton and at age 13 he and his mother and two sisters moved to Boyne City, where he graduated from high school in 1930. He was in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Camp Wolverine in Springvale.
He worked many years in the tannery until he was drafted in the Army in May, 1941. He was in Company L, 126 Infantry and in 3bn.Bn.Hq.Co. of the 126 Infantry and served in the South Pacific area and was awarded a Silver Star.
After leaving the Army he went to work in the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn. After retiring, he returned to Boyne City in 1972.
He joined the V.F.W. Post 3675 and was a life member. He joined the First Baptist Church of Boyne City and was an active member there.
On April 7, 1982, he married Alta MEREDITH.
On Jan. 15, 1992, Alta Skyee died at their home.
He is survived by two sisters, Cecil LININGTON of Mount Clemens and Lucille SENF of Los Angeles; three nephews, Douglas DAVIS, Carlton DAVIS and Larry DAVIS.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the First Baptist Church in Boyne City. Pastor Russell Tharp will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Donations may be given to the First Baptist Church of Boyne City.
