Martha A. DYE, 69, of Eaton, Ohio, died Sunday, Aug. 22, at the family summer home in Bay View. She was born March 29, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Oliver J. and Mary Althea (KINTZ) RITZERT. She was a 1948 graduate of Julienne High School, Dayton, Ohio; 1972 graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, with a bachelors degree in education; member of Visitation Catholic Church, Eaton, Ohio; founding member of the Eaton Area Arts Council; a principal founder of the Preble County Historical Society; a member of the Richmond Heritage Club and a long-time member of the Eaton Current Events Club.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John V. DYE, Jr.; son John Martin DYE, San Rafael, Calif.; daughters Mary DYE, Oak Park, Ill., Susanne DYE ROSE, Brighton, Mich.; three grandchildren; sisters Rita GRIFFIN, Englewood, Ohio, Mary Hope MILLER, Eaton, Ohio; brother John RITZERT, Kettering, Ohio; nieces and nephews; preceded in death by her brother, Raymond RITZERT.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Visitation Catholic Church, Eaton, with the Rev. J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 26, at Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., Eaton, Ohio, with a rosary service recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Preble County Historical Society.
