Brother of Gladwin People Buried
Funeral service for Charles Frederick Strohkirch, Ellice Township, Ontario, Canada, was held Tuesday afternoon at the Greenwood-Gilbert Funeral home with Rev. C. S. Oke of Knox Presbyterian Church officiating . Pallbearers, all elders of Knox Presbyterian Church were Marshal V. Malcolm, John F. Adamson, R. Neil Bissonette, Stanley J. Ballantyne, James Baikie and David Barton. Burial was in Avondale Cemetery.
Charles Frederick Strohkirch, well-known resident of Ellice Township passed quietly away at the family home, Spruce Glen, Sunday at 9:00 p. m. He had farmed on the farm on which he died for the past 50 years. Born near New Hamburg, Canada, on July 10, 1873, Mr. Strohkirch moved to Ellice Township as a young man. On March 15, 1899, he was united in marriage with Miss Wilhelmina Malcho who survives. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Stratford, Canada. Left to mourn, besides his wife, are a daughter, Violet, at home; three sisters, Mrs Ells Smallwood and Mrs. Terry Hunt, both of Gladwin, and Mrs. Philip Morgan, Lansing; one brother, Chris Strohkirch, of Gladwin.
