I know this is an old post, but I figured I should respond.
A gentleman who is either the sexton or an assistant as well as a member of the Eaton County, Michigan historical society, forwarded to me a copy of an obituary for "Sadie" E (Hams) Lake (b. 15-Jan-1861; d. 18-Mar-1929). Here is a small portion of that obituary:
"Sadie Hams was the youngest of two children of Alfred J and Mary Hams. At the age of two her mother died, and she went to live with her Aunt Sarah & Uncle William. At the age of 13 she started earning her own way in the world.
On November 30, 1887 she was united in marriage to Eldora D Lake to which union was born one son, Glenn A Lake.
Since her marriage she has lived around Vermontville until she departed this life on 18-March-1929, following a severe attack of the Flu and its after affects."
So from your info, it is obvious that the uncle and aunt who took care of her was William I.F. Hams & Sarah (Betts) Hams.
