My Great Grandfather George Washington Briggs older brother Edward M.Briggs right before the 1860 Census was living next door to his folks with his new bride Amanada this was in Jackson,Jackson,Michigan.Well the next census being 1870 Census record I believe that Edward is window and his daughter Rachel has married young man with the last name of Gee.Her sister Ida is either 15 or 16 they are all living together.What has me confused is this the one census record has Edward M.Briggs only wife that I know of Amanada was suppose to have been born in New York.The next census after she has passed this would the 1870 Census states that Rachel Briggs Gee mother was born in Penn.Then that Ida mother was suppose have been born in Canada.Then in the 1900's Census up to the 1920's pretty much says that Rachel mother was born in England.I just wonder if there is anyway to figure out what to believe or not to believe.This is just one problem the other is not having any idea what her maiden name is so that is the other problem to figure out what is true or not with these census records.I thank you for the help and anykind of information that you may have.
