Died Saturday, December 4, 2004. Henry was born November 28, 1920, in Kalamazoo, MI, a son of Henry E. and Mary A. (Sparks) Krank Sr., and had been a lifelong area resident. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1942, and participated in action against the enemy in the Marianas, St. Mathias, British Solomon and Palau Islands throughout 1944. Upon returning home, Henry began a career as a contractor, working for Miller Davis, Co. He later began his own business constructing homes. Henry loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing golf. He was also a member of Comstock VFW Post #6252. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Hawley) Krank on July 15, 1992. He was also preceded in death by: a daughter, Carol Sue Krank; his parents; 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Surviving are a son, John (Linda) Krank of Kalamazoo; a daughter, Lee Ann (Joe) Higdon of Delton; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are his very special friend of 16 years, Dorothy Leisek of Kalamazoo, and her daughter and family, Carol (Virgil) Hopwood of Scotts. Services were held 10:30 Wednesday (this morning) at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with the Rev. James Dyke officiating. Burial with military honors in Ft. Custer National Cemetery followed services. Memorials should be directed to Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services.
