L. V. WHITE Death Inquest Delayed - Postponement Requested by Family, County Coroner H. R. Cobb Reports; Inquest into the death of Lauren V. WHITE, oil firm president who was fatally shot Sunday, Oct. 11, in the officers of the L. V. WHITE Company, has been indefinitely postponed it, was announced Wednesday by Dr. Horace R. Cobb, county coroner. In announcing the postponment [sic], Dr. Cobb stated he had been requested to delay the inquest for the time being at least, by legal counsel for the WHITE family. Plans for the inquest are formulated, even to the swearing in of a jury, and the hearing can be started upon momentary notice. The inquest originally was scheduled to open Thursday. Police and sheriff's officers, state police detectives, and the prosecutor's department were continuing their investigation of the shooting Wednesday, upon the theory WHITE was murdered.
