Passed away at 9:11 PM Wednesday, May 14, 2008 in Park Place Living Centre Kalamazoo, Michigan with her family by her side. A Celebration of Geraldine's Life will be at 11 AM Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Ruppert officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment with "Flight Home" Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, www.hospiceswmi.com

. Geraldine, known as Jeri, was born March 21, 1917 in Roby, Illinois the ninth child of Benjamin Franklin and Hattie (Barnes) Stogdell. She was employed as a bookkeeper and cashier in the Safety Deposit Department at Millikin National Bank from 1965-1983. She was active in the St. Patrick's Home and School Association in Decatur and in California was a member of The Doll Club, a group that made handmade dolls and other crafts. Her interests included gardening, outdoor activities, and traveling. Jeri was known and loved for her sweet disposition and kindness to others. She married Joseph J. Nepote February 18, 1938. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1964. She then married Vern S. Allen in August 6, 1983. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2007. Surviving is her daughter Marijo Carney and husband John of Schoolcraft, Michigan; son Joseph J. Nepote II of Millbrae, California; step-children James Allen and wife Carol of Montrose, Colorado, Judy Allen Nevins and husband Ken of Congress, Arizona, John Allen of Sherwood, Oregon, and Janiece Allen Slominski and husband Mike of Pollack Pines, California; sister Genevieve Casper of Roby, Illinois, three grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and nine step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Joseph, second husband Vern, one brother, and seven sisters.
