ROBINSON, Louis Walter
Kalamazoo
Loving husband, cherished father and grandfather, Louis passed away at his home on November 19, 2009. He was a bright light that always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling, but loved being with his family the most. Years ago he was a member of a CB club and liked to square dance with friends. He was born in Kalamazoo in January 1928, the son of Earl and Pansy Robinson Lowman and lived in the area his entire life. Louis is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Reva Jean Robinson (Johnson); brother Frank (Darlene) Robinson; sisters Shirley (Doug) Duryea and Betty (Phil) Rose; his children Ricky Robinson, Rosemary (Ric) Sorrentino, Randy (Diane) Robinson, and Rodney (Jean) Robinson; several nieces and nephews; ten grand children; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Claire Robinson. Louis served as a U.S. Army Air Corps medic in WWII. He retired from Eckrich/Conagra at age 65, where he served as a shop steward for the Teamsters Union. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a contribution be made to the American Heart Association at donate.americanheart.org. Cremation has taken place per his wishes. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday evening from 5 to 8 PM at Rosemary Sorrentino's home at 523 Alecia in Kalamazoo.
