Delbert “Del” EGGEN, Of Texas Township, Died unexpectedly November 8, 2001 at Borgess Medical Center. Del was born November 22, 1925 in LaPorte, IN, the son of Henry II and Cora (PETERSEN) EGGEN. He served 2-1/2 years in the Army during WW II. Del worked at Shakespeare for 42 years as a foreman for control parts. His hobbies included golfing, fishing and traveling up north to watch the boats at the locks in Sault Set. Marie. Del was preceded in death by two brother, Edgar and Henry III EGGEN; and a sister, Norma JOHNSON. on January 26, 1947 he was united in marriage to Patricia “Pat” (WILLIAMS) EGGEN, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Sherrie (Ron) MEYLE of Texas Township, Bill EGGEN of Kalamazoo, and Nancy (Jim) TROXELL of Shelbyville, KY, two grandsons, Kevin (Shelia) MEYLE of Portage, and Jason (Tamara DIAMOND) MEYLE of Kalamazoo; and one great-grandson, Logan MEYLE, three sisters, Lori VOSLER of Kalamazoo, Bertha (Dale) PHEBUS of Homosassa, FL, and Juanita (Clayton) SUTTON of Villages, FL; a brother, Edward (Genelle) EGGEN of Dickson, TN; two sisters-in-law, Barbara EGGEN of Homosassa, FL, and Marjorie EGGEN of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews. There will be many nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. Cremation will take place. Graveside service will be geld Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors, Rev. James Dyke officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc.
