Mrs. Wilma EKEMA of Kalamazoo, Died Tuesday morning, October 30, 2001 Wilma was born April 6, 1931 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Hessel and Trientje (DYKSTRA) WEIDNENAAR and had been a resident in the Kalamazoo area for most of her life. She attended the Fourth Reformed Church and enjoyed antiques, yard sales and gardening. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard WEIDENAAR. On November 3, 1950 she was united in marriage to Ray Ekema who survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Raejean (Jerry) SLATER, Ron (Tammy) EKEMA, all of Kalamazoo, Larry (Sherrie) EKEMA of Centreville, Laurie (Carl) WILLIAMS of Plainwell, 7 grandchildren, Mike, Eric, Dustin, Josh, Cameron, Tiffany, and Taylor, sisters and brother, Betty and Garrett (DEHAAN) MEEUWSE of Parchment, Ann (Harold) BOONSTRA, Matilda TENHOR, Agnes TENHOR, Jake OOOST, all of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 o’clock Friday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., 343-1508 with Rev. James VanderRoest, of the Fourth Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Alamo Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the chapel.
