John A. Smith Dies Following Accident
John A. Smith died December 6 at the Health Center following an accident. While attempting to start his car by pulling it with a team of horses, a sudden lurch threw him, resulting in a severe head injury from which he never regained consciousness. He was 72 years old. Mr. Smith was born January 19, 1885, in South Bend, Indiana to Calup and Sarah Smith, coming to Kalkaska at the age of 15 and has lived in the county since that time on a farm.
Mr. and Mrs. John A. Smith were married December 25, 1907.
Surviving beside his widow, Margaret M. Smith, is one son, Claude J. and sister, Mrs. Myrtle Misner.
