Amygdaloid Mine / Gem Mine

I am looking for employment records for Joseph Stone. The 1870 censusfor Michigan puts him at Amygdaloid Mine township with the post office being Gem Mine - it says drives team as occupation. I'm not familiar with the names of the mines in the Keweena County as they existed in the late 1800's. Would someone be able to shed some light on this topic. Thank you. Michael
