What was the church in 1886?

Hopefully someone out there can help me with this question. If it was Macomb Co or Detroit I would know the resource to look in to find the answer but in this case I don't know.

I found a marriage in 1886. The record says it took place in Mussey Twp. The groom was from Imlay Lapeer Co. while the bride was from Mussey Twp. [The groom is found in 1894 in Imlay Twp as a widower, so this was a short one.]

The name of the officiating minister was given as "W. H. Flint, clergyman"

So my question is what church was W.H. Flint associated with in 1886??

In a history of Lapeer it seems he is connected with the Attica Methodist Protestant church but was he still in 1886??

Also, if the church he was affiliated with in 1886 still exists what is it called today?

Thanks for your help.
