Thank you for your consideration. I have Florence's death certificate and it is not very helpful. I was hoping that there some clue from her past before she moved to Washington by 1907 - news article on her birth in Sept 1881, her wedding in Fairfield in 1901, relatives in town for the births/baptisms of her children in Hillsdale in 1902 and 1904, or a note in a Bible or on a photo from the Wotrings, Warrens, Forces, or Sarles descendents. I'll e-mail you privately with more information. Perhaps you have some more insights that you would be willing to share on researching this mystery.

I am trying to find out who Florence Wotring's ancestors were. Surely there is a record, picture, Bible, or newspaper reference to her somewhere.

In the 1900 census she is listed as a housekeeping servant to the Albert and Martha Force family in Madison twp, Lenawee, Michigan. The Force's daughter born in Jan 1900 was named Florence. Florence Wotring was born in Sept 1881 in Michigan and her father was born in WV and her mother in Michigan.

In Nov. 1901, she married Clyde Samuel Warren in Fairfield, Lenawee, MI. She resided in Jasper, (Fairfield twp, Lenawee county), MI at the time but there is no information on her family.

In 1900 Clyde was in the home of Charles and Kate Sarles as a cousin in North Adams, Hillsdale, MI. Florence and Clyde's son Samuel Sterling Warren was born in Hillsdale in Oct 1902. Their daughter Theresa was born in MI in 1904. Between 1904 and 1907 they relocated to Washington.

Thanks for your help.

I have many of my paternal ancestors buried in Brookside. The cemetery sexton is Dan Righter, drighter@tecumseh.mi.us He is extremely helpful if you email him. If you find out the graves location from Dan, I'd be more than happy to take photos for you. I'm only about 40 minutes away from Tecumseh and go there for ancestry research.

llanciano@bex.net

I have been researching O.E. Mott (Ollie) Who was my grandfather. Nu-Way Streach was in business until early in the 1960's. After O.E's death (date unknown) my father H. R. Mott (Harold) run the business until its closure. Nu-Way Streach started with suspenders based on a patent taken out by O. E. Later they added men's belts, ties, and other accessories.

Hi Martha,

I think we talked about this woman, Leah Haldron, some time ago. This is what I have in my data base for her, and my information comes from the Michigan Digital Death Records Collection, 1897-1920. My interest in this family stems from the fact that one of Leah's children, John Van Horn Turner, married a great aunt of mine, Irene Maria Decker. My notes say that Leah was born in New York state in 1796 and died in 1878 in Michigan. I hope this may be useful to you. With best wishes, Virginia Decker Loewe

Robert B TALLMAN, 1919-1957 buried in Lot #372 in the Old Part of Morenci Oak Grove Cemetery with his father and Elihu Duane TALLMAN, 1854-1934 and Anna Adele TALLMAN, 1851-1914.
I believe the Stair Public Library in Morenci has the local newspaper, some hard copy and some on microfilm from the 1920's with some exceptions. They will probably do a search for you on request. You can contact them at:
http://www.stairlib.org/
As far as the cemetery sexton, you should probably contact City Hall to see where the records may be right now. I don’t think there is a full-time sexton at this time.
Phone # is 517 458 6828 or http://www.cityofmorenci.org/
Many thanks. My mother had started the family tree and was never able to find death certificates for either AI or Hannah. David and Phebe were one of the two possible sets of parents though. I have not yet been able to travel to Lenawee County to do any digging there myself.

But at least now it has taken it back at least one more generation on that line. I have cracked the puzzle on a couple other lines, but I still have other puzzles to work out if I can.

AI Gould & Hannah Stepehnson

I am trying to learn more about the parents of AI Gould, born about 1816 in NY, died Dec 16, 1870 in Lenawee County, and his wife Hannah Stephenson. born about 1824 in NY, died May 29, 1898 in Lenawee. I believe Hannah's parents to be Andrew, born about 1799 and Lydia Lamphier, born about 1804, but do not have confirmation. For AI, I have two different possible sets of parents at present.

Their children were Lydia P, born March 26, 1842, married George Watts, died in California; Mary, 1844 to September 26, 1899, Lenawee, married to John Fox; Aldelbert, July 21, 1854 to June 28, 1939, Hillsdale, married to Lucy Beadle; and George, February 21, 1859 to January 1, 1929, Lenawee, married to Johanna Blue.

I am interested in information on either the individuals or especially AI and Hannah's parents.

Many thanks.

I am looking for information on the Bowerman's who settled in Shiocton WI. The head of this branch is Israel, the son of Joseph Bowerman & Abigail l. Davis. I know this family originated from Thomas Bowerman the first who lived in Falmouth MA.

I am looking for marriage records to Mary Foster and any information about Mary Foster's family. One of the census records I have put Israel in Grey County, Ontario Canada, in the 1850's, and in Shiocton, Wisconsin in the 1870's's. Israel was a Quaker until he married Mary, then he turned Methodist.

Thanks in advance for any info,

Israel Bowerman Born Hallowell, Ontario Canada.
Married (one family member had the marriage in N.Y.?)
Mary Foster b. 1839 Place unknown, parents unknown.
3 Mar, 1859.
Children
1.
Susan, Yes the Hudson Library has all copies of the Hudson Post and Hudson Gazette going back to the 1860's to present day. I used to be able to get them inter-library loan through the Michigan State Library and sent to Petersburg Library until they run out of money and quit that program

Eldon Hills @ Petersburg, Mi.

I'm not sure about coroner's records, but have you searched for other newspaper articles near the time of her death? As I learned due to an unusual death among my ancestors, sensational stories were often carried in papers across the country, with different details present in each article. It's worth doing a good thorough search on places like Newspaper Archive and Chronicling America.

Sorry for my slow reply. I'm researching the death of my great-grandmother in Addison in 1925. I do have the basic facts from her death certificate, as well as a newspaper article in the Jackson Citizen-Patriot. It was front-page news because she committed suicide by poison. From the JCP article (Sunday 29 Mar 1925), I gleaned that she took the poison on Wednesday the 25th and didn't die until Friday the 27th. Purely out of curiosity, I wonder if there are any more details I could find out: what kind of poison it was, who found her, was anyone with her during those last two days, etc.

Hi Brad, I have been desperately searching for information that would help me piece together my Bovee family tree. My grandfather Robert Bovee is 92 and faint of memory; he is the only remaining Bovee in my family and cant remember much of his past beside his father. If you would be willing to share your copy of the Bovee family tree I would be very, very grateful.
-Thank you
(email: Dantealighieri444@gmail.com)
