Passed away Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon from a ruptured aortic aneurysm. Joe was born May 2, 1941 in Kalamazoo. He was married on April 23, 1960 to Burlene Gildea and she survives. The couple moved to Ludington in 1981 and owned and operated True Value Hardware until 1985 when they started Shamrock Electrick which they operated until retiring. Joe was a member of Lincoln Hills Country Club, the Ludington Boat Club, the Ludington Lodge 637, Loyal Order of Moose, the V.F.W., the Edwin H. Ewing Post 76, the American Legion, Ludington Lodge 736 B.P.O.E., Ludington Aerie 1354, FOE.E.. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, golf, college football, especially Notre Dame and various construction projects. Joe will be greatly missed by his family which includes his wife of 48 years, Burlene; his three children, Mike (Charrise) McCrorey of Elkhart, Indiana, Suzanne (Duane) Tyndall of Ludington, Mark (Tina) McCrorey of Richland; Seven grandchildren, Megan McCrorey, Keith McCrorey, Theresa Tyndall, Joey Tyndall, Tyler McCrorey, Kelcey McCrorey, Caleb McCrorey; one sister, Donna Leschander of Tampa, Florida; one brother, Quinton Hepola of Green Bay, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Don and Sharon Alsboro; and one brother-in-law, Kim and Chris Gildea. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Goden Hepola; and several dear friends. A memorial service will be held for Joe on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Lincoln Hills Country Club from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribtuions may be directed to Joe's family to be used for a memorial tree to be planted at Lincoln Hills and a Junior Golf Scholarship. Dorrell Funeral Home is assisting the family.
