Abraham L Swansby in December 1, 1908 was appointed the rural mail carrier for Hamlin Lake. He was very instrumental in organizing the farmers to help construct better dirt roads around by the upper lake's resorts. There is a photograph of him on the front page of the Ludington Chroncile 12/2/1908 paper - good looking fellow.
