I have discovered that John Davis, a pioneer settler of Mecosta County, is my great-great uncle. He originally settled on 160 acres on/near Eight Mile Road, west of Stanwood. His property was at the intersection of Davis Creek and what is called the Grand Rapids & Big Rapids State road on the 1879 map.
My questions to those living in Mecosta Co. are: What is there now? Is Davis Creek still there? Are there any cemeteries or burials near there?
John Davis' sister, Lena, was my gg grandmother. She married John Walsh, who died before 1880. I'd like to find where he is buried and also the gravesite of their father, William.
Thanks!
