I am trying to locate an obituary or burial location for Elizabeth Maxwell Norton, wife of Joseph Norton. She was born abt. 1854 in Lambton, Ontario, d. 1898, most likely in Missaukee, perhaps in Norwich Township.

She and Joseph Norton married in Sanilac county Michigan in 1872. In the 1880 census, they are living in Sanilac with three young children, Emma, Charles, and Susan. A baby, George, was born in 1881 and died in 1882. Sometime after baby George died in 1882 and Emma's marriage in 1889, the family moved to Missaukee. Both Emma and her brother Charles were married in Falmouth. In the census of 1900, a widowed Joseph and the two youngest children, Sarah, b. 1883 and Hugh A. Norton, b. 1887, are living in Missaukee, Norwich Twp.

In the 1910 census, Hugh and his young bride Ora are living in Clams Union with their baby Harold. His brother Charles was also living in Clams Union then. Their father Joseph had moved to Gladwin where he died in 1915.

I believe Hugh and Ora Norton both died before the 1920 census, although I have no dates or burial locations for them. I found their son Harold and a sister, Arvilla, born in 1910, in an orphanage in Genessee County in 1920.

I would like to know where Elizabeth is buried, and what became of her daughters Susan and Sarah Norton. I would also like to know what happened to son Hugh and his wife; did they die in Missaukee also?
