Hopefully you already got the info about Ida M. McDowell being the mother of Elmer Miller. She and Enoch Jr. were married when she died at age 24 from consumption. He must have remarried after her death. Elmer went to live with Ida's brother, Lewis McDowell. A census report lists Elmer as Lewis's "adopted son," but he was actually his nephew. I wonder why he didn't live with Enoch after Ida died? If you find out, let me know.
