My Great-Great-Grandfather, Joseph Hoover Hepburn, bought the Hotel in 1915 and ran it for several years. He lived in Ludington at the time. While the Ludington papers spelled it "Phoenix," the name engraved in the facade is "Phenix." Despite searching for a wile, I've been unable to find out much about the hotel before then.
