WILSON-LAMBERT
The home of Anthony Wilson at Riley Center, Tuesday afternoon, August 25th was the scene of a very pretty wedding when their daughter Melissa was united in marriage with Dr. E. J. Lambert of Ottumwa, Ia.
The wedding party consisting of the groom and groomsman Mr. Lee Wilson, Miss Mary Miller of Ottumwa, as bridesmaid and Mrs. Floyd Howe as matron of honor, followed by the bride on the arm of her father. As Mrs. B. D. Cantine played a wedding march from Lohengrin the party took their places amid a bank of ferns and autumn flowers. The music continued very softly during the impressive ceremony read by Rev. Oliver, after which the guests, during the playing of Mendelsohn's wedding march showered the bride and groom with congratulations and good wishes.
The bride's gown was a beautifully draped white silk and lace with the conventional bouquet of American Beauty roses. Miss Miller's gown was a yellow silk and lace with a bouquet of yellow roses.
After a delicious dinner served at 6:00 p.m. Dr. and Mrs. Lambert left for a short trip in the east. A few days will be spent with the bride's parents after which they will go to their home in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Many beautiful gifts of silver and china were received from relatives and friends.
Dr. Lambert is an eye, ear, nose, and throat specialist and Mrs. Lambert has held the position of supervisor of Domestic Science in the Ottumwa schools the past two years.****
