Joshua Wedge who died on the 26th day of December, 1883 was born in the Township of Malahide, Province of Ontario, on the 4th day of October, 1835. Came to Brockway Centre with his parents in the year 1856 and settled on the farm where he died. He was 48 years, 2 months and 22 days old and was never married. He was a good, honest, industrious man ever ready and willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Although he never united with any church he was a Christian at heart and always walked upright in his several stations in life. He was a mason for a number of years and always lived up to his obligations to the order, neither stepping to the right or to the left, but taking a straightforward course. By his request his remains were taken in charge by the F. & A.M. Fraternity and buried in the Old Brockway Cemetery [Weekly Expositor, Jan. 10, 1884]
