Surnames: Thurston, Benjamin
Seeking information on ancestry and descendants of David THURSTON [born about 1799, living 1855], resident of Pompey, Schroeppel and Lysander, NY.

David first appears in Pompey, NY census in 1830, with a wife and small daughter. He seems to have married at least twice; his 1st wife, Margaret, was head of household in Manlius, 1840, indicating a likely separation. Margaret was the mother of two sons, Theodore Wood Thurston (1830-1914), of Manlius, NY and Henry Horace Thurston, born 1832.

David appears in Schroeppel, NY in 1850, with a new wife, Catherine, and five young daughters. The family were paupers. In 1855, they are in the town of Lysander, Onondaga County--the last census I can find for the family.

Children of David Thurston by 2nd wife, Catherine:

iv. Sarah J., b. abt 1842, living 1855
v. Mary A., b. abt 1845, ditto
vi. Martha E., b. abt 1847; m. --- Benjamin; living 1914 in Fargo, Michigan.
vii. Abigail (Abbie), b. abt 1849; m. --- Holbeit; living 1914 in Eden, Michigan.
viii. Henrietta, b. 7 Mar 1851; m. John Mills Wiltse of Palermo, NY; she died 18 March 1894 in Palermo. My great-great-grandparents.
