Bronson; Maurice D. HOARD, 69, 1129 Hollow Road, died Sept. 25, 1994, at his home, following a long illness.

He was born June 2, 1925, in Noble Township, Branch County, a son of Charles and Florence (HECKMAN) HOARD.

On March 15, 1947, he married Neoma CRABBS, in Bronson.

He was a lifelong Branch County resident and worked about five years at the L.A. Darling Company, Bronson, then 31 years at the Coldwater Regional Center. He retired in 1980. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He enjoyed gardening, camping and hunting.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Chris (Connie Jean) O’ROURKE, Burr Oak; two sons, Donald Wilbur HOARD and Lonald Maurice HOARD, both of Bronson; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack HOARD, Burr Oak; three sisters, Wava SPRINGS, Sturgis, Eathel STEWART and Alice KIPKER, both of Bronson and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Arnold Dean HOARD and Ronald Charles HOARD; and one sister, Marjorie POMEROY.

Relatives and friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today at the Kolcz Funeral Home, Bronson, where services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Angel Rojas, Church of the Holy Spirit will officiate. Burial will follow in Matteson Township Cemetery with full military honors being conferred by the Bronson Posts of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Memorials may be directed to Sturgis Home Health Care. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
