I just found your post and was surprised to see my surname, Blote.
I've heard of a so far unknown, James Blote in 1919, Chicago, IL, Army I supose.

Would you be kind enough to let me know if you have any further information on this name for me? Perhaps family photo of the children?

I am also doing research for my step-Dad Kelly Family of Mishawaka, St. Joseph County, Indiana. They also had family into Michigan.
